The Long Running Musicals In London You Should Not Miss

Even though there may be numerous films being released nowadays, people easily grow tired of them. On the other hand, there are shows in the West End that are still much loved by the public due to the timeless themes represented in such performances. Plus, they are a great source of learning when you are fond of moving your feet and body to music. So, if you wish to observe individuals who are experts in tripping the light fantastic, go for the classics which include:

Wicked – This is based on a parallel novel of The Wizard of Oz that was written by Gregory Maguire in 1995. The plot basically begins before and continues after Dorothy's arrival from Kansas and is told from the perspective of the witches. It debuted in the Apollo Victoria in September 2006.

The Phantom of the Opera – This was adopted from the French book Le Fantôme de l'Opéra by Gaston Leroux, and its central theme revolves around a beautiful soprano who becomes the obsession of a mysterious, disfigured prodigy. Its debut was on October 9, 1986 at Her Majesty's hall.

Mamma Mia! - According to a review from BBC, this is a hilarious story of family and friendship that was inspired by the songs of the world-famous ABBA. The tale focuses on a forty-year-old bride-to be that wishes to discover the identity of her father. It opened in April 6, 1999 originally at the Prince Edward Theatre.

Chicago – This is a story that is set in the Prohibition-era and is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice. It follows the tale of a chorus girl who murders her lover for fame. Its opening night was on November 18, 1997 at the Victoria Palace stage.
